On 5th December 2012 Kenya Industrial estates limited who’s mandate is to promote industrialization through indigenous enterprise development launched the new industrial incubators in Nyamira, the estates compromise of 14 sheds that shall offer industrial workspace to entrepreneurs in the region.
Industrial incubators are facilities that provide industries with affordable work space and shared support and development services such as financing, marketing and management skills. These are services that are prerequisites towards nurturing, sustaining and facilitating industries’ growth especially during their start-up period when they are most financially vulnerable.
KIE has developed a total of 28 Industrial Estates throughout the country consisting of more than 450 industrial incubators with concentration in the following areas: - Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Embu, Nyeri, Kakamega, Siaya, Kisii, Kericho, Voi, Malindi, Homabay, Meru, Kitui, Machakos, Bungoma, Busia, Kabarnet, Tala, Keroka, Nunguni, Sultan Hamud, Kikima, Taveta, Karatina and Kibwezi.
